Automatic Merit Scholarships
Academic scholarships are awarded automatically to qualified incoming transfer students at the time of admission. These awards are based on the student’s cumulative transfer GPA and are renewable. No additional application is required.
Competitive Scholarships: Application required
The following scholarships are competitive and require a special application and student participation. All are renewable for four consecutive years, unless otherwise noted, as long as the recipient is a full-time undergraduate student. To be considered for these scholarships, you must also apply for admission to Carthage.
Spring Scholarship Competition
One (1) full-tuition scholarship and one (1) $29,000-per-year scholarship
Deadline: December 3, 2024
Carthage awards one full-tuition scholarship and one $29,000-per-year scholarship, renewable for up to three years, to new incoming freshmen and transfer students who show determination, intelligence, and motivation.

Fall Transfer Scholarship Competition
One (1) full-tuition scholarship and one (1) $31,000-per-year scholarship

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
$2,000
These scholarships are awarded to community college transfer students with current Phi Theta Kappa membership. This $2,000 scholarship is in addition to most other merit awards. Proof of Phi Theta Kappa membership may be requested, though there is no separate application for this scholarship.
